Covid-19 Safety Information

We are doing everything we can to make sure that the Mascall Centre is a safe and healthy place for all of our guests and visitors, as well as our staff.

The Ludlow Mascall Centre has been awarded VisitEngland's “We’re Good to Go” COVID-19 industry standard mark, which shows that we are following Government and public health guidelines for cleaning and operating our property, so you can enjoy your time at the Centre in safety.

Introduction

The welfare of our guests, visitors and staff is our first priority and we are doing everything we can to minimise the risk from Covid-19 at the Centre. We have put in place a number of measures to help reduce the risk in-line with Government guidance. These measures, as well as that guidance, will be kept under constant review and revised as needed. We have also completed a Covid-19-specific risk assessment. If you have a specific question or would like to offer feedback about what we are doing, do not hesitate to contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Measures to be Taken by Our Staff

All of our staff have received appropriate Covid-19 secure training. Staff will be checked on arrival to ensure that they do not have a temperature or any other symptoms. If they do they will asked to return home and follow the stay-at-home guidance. All staff will be following social distancing, quarantine, and contact tracing policies.

Appropriate PPE will be worn by all staff. All staff will either wash their hands or use hand sanitising gel regularly and thoroughly.

Measures to be Taken Before You Arrive
(Accommodation Guests Only)

To minimise person-to-person contact on arrival, we ask you to book via our website or a third-party booking site such as Booking.com. This will reduce the need for us to handle the chip-and-pin machine or cash.

Your booking will be confirmed on receipt. A Residents Guide will be e-mailed to you three days prior to your check-in date. We are aiming to stagger arrivals in 15-minute intervals to maintain social distancing and reduce the amount of time you will have to wait to be checked in.

The Residents Guide will include a link to a guest registration form that we kindly request you fill out and submit prior to your arrival in order to minimise person-to-person contact at reception. We are legally required to collect this information as an accommodation provider. Your details will be kept according to GDPR guidelines. Please have one person in your party complete the form on behalf of everyone else and submit it prior to your arrival.

In order to ensure the safety of our other guests, as well as our staff, we politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 or have been told to self-isolate that you do not travel to the Centre and contact us at the telephone number provided with your booking confirmation e-mail to postpone your stay.

We also request that anyone who has recently returned from any of the countries on the UK government's red list follow the government guidance about testing, self-isolation, and quarantine before travelling to the Centre to ensure that you are healthy. If this means you will need to postpone your visit, please contact us at the telephone number provided with your booking confirmation e-mail, and we will be happy to assist you.

We have revised our cancellation policy in order to be as accommodating and understanding of the current situation as possible. We no longer offer a non-refundable room rate and we do not charge a fee to modify or cancel your booking, as long as you do so prior to your arrival date and time. Please note, that this flexibility applies only to bookings made on our website or directly with us. The cancellation and modification policies for bookings made on third party websites (e.g., Booking.com) may not be as flexible.

Measures to be Taken On Arrival and While in the Building (All Visitors and Accommodation Guests)

If anyone in your party is displaying any Covid-19 symptoms when you arrive at the Centre, you will all be asked to leave the premises.

The Centre is participating in the NHS Test and Trace program and have displayed our QR code at the building entrances for any visitors and guests who are also participating in the program.

Hand sanitising stations are located at the Centre entrance, exit and other areas for you to use. Please use them before entering the Centre and when you come and go during your visit to the Centre.

In line with current government guidance, visitors and guests are required to wear a face covering when in the communal areas of the Centre unless they are medically exempt.

All surfaces, including door handles, keypads, tables and equipment, will be regularly cleaned and sanitised by us throughout the day, as well as after use by guests and visitors.

Toilets will be regularly cleaned and sanitised throughout the day by our staff. Please use your discretion and consideration when using these facilities.

When possible please maintain the one-way system through the building and maintain a social distance from other users. This does not apply should the fire alarm sound, in which case you should make your way to the nearest exit.

If, while staying at or visiting the Centre, you are contacted by Test and Trace and asked to self-isolate, you will need to returen home, ideally by private transport, to self-isolate. The Centre is not equipped to have people self-isolate in our accommodation.

Measures to be Taken During Your Stay
(Accommodation Guests Only)

Bedrooms and bathrooms will be thoroughly cleaned and sanitised prior to your arrival. All fabric items within the room will have been steam cleaned. Your room will then be locked until your arrival.

Your room key (along with bike shed keys if you have requested them) will have been sanitised, and sealed in an envelope until your arrival, for you to open.

All linens and towels are professionally washed and dried at a high heat.

We provide sealed, individual toiletries for each guest. These are replaced with every new arrival.

There is a kettle in each room which is thoroughly cleaned between guests. Sealed, individual packs of teas and coffees, plus milk sugar and biscuits, are provided for each guest. These are replaced with every new arrival.

If your room has a television, the remote control will have been sanitised and sealed in a plastic bag between guests.

Our apologies, but in order to protect the safety of our staff and to ensure adequate social distancing, we are unable to show you to your room on arrival or assist you with your bags.

The housekeeping team will not enter your room during your stay, but if you have specific requests you can contact a member of staff directly, the details for which will be in each guest room. At the bottom of the stairs leading up to the guest rooms you will find a replacement station, where you can replenish bedroom supplies such as toilet rolls, towels, tea, coffee, etc., and a sanitation station, where you can access cleaning materials, if needed.

In order to minimise the risk of Covid-19 transmission we have placed containers of sanitising wipes in the residents kitchenette. Please use these to wipe down the shared refrigerator handle, microwave oven, iron, ironing board, and hair-dryer fwhen you are done using them.

We recommend that you wear a mask and socially distance from anyone not in your party who is in the residents lounge at the same time as you.

If you develop Covid-19 symptoms whilst staying at the Centre, please arrange a PCR  test using our address (Lower Galdeford, Ludlow, SY8 1RZ). You can order a test from www.gov.uk/get-coronavirus-test or call 119. You will then need to return home, ideally by public transport, to self-isolate. If you are travelling with others, they must also return home to self-isolate. The Centre is not equipped to have people self-isolate in our accommodation.

On check-out please open your windows to ventilate your room. Keys (including bike shed keys) must be deposited in the box outside the entrance to the accommodation corridor on the first floor in order to limit person-to-person contact.

We apologise but we are unable to provide a left luggage facility at this time.
