Covid-19 Safety Information

We are doing everything we can to make sure that the Mascall Centre is a safe and healthy place for all of our guests and visitors, as well as our staff.

The Ludlow Mascall Centre has been awarded VisitEngland's “We’re Good to Go” COVID-19 industry standard mark, which shows that we are following Government and public health guidelines for cleaning and operating our property, so you can enjoy your time at the Centre in safety.

The welfare of our guests, visitors and staff is our first priority and we are doing everything we can to minimise the risk from Covid-19 at the Centre. We have put in place a number of measures to help reduce the risk in-line with Government guidance. These measures, as well as that guidance, will be kept under constant review and revised as needed. We have also completed a Covid-19-specific risk assessment. If you have a specific question or would like to offer feedback about what we are doing, do not hesitate to contact us.

We know that sanitisation is crucial to prevent the spread of Covid-19 and need your cooperation to help our public areas stay clean by using the hand sanitising stations and wipes where provided. We have also had to limit some of our guest amenities, such as the residents lounge, as it would be difficult to ensure they are cleaned regularly and thoroughly after use. Thank you for your understanding as we adapt to new ways of working.

Measures to be Taken by Our Staff

All of our staff have received appropriate Covid-19 secure training. Staff will be checked on arrival to ensure that they do not have a temperature or any other symptoms. If they do they will asked to return home and follow the stay-at-home guidance. All staff will be following social distancing, quarantine, and contact tracing policies.

Appropriate PPE will be worn by all staff. Housekeeping staff will wear full PPE, as they often work closer to each other than the social distance guidelines recommend. All staff will either wash their hands or use hand sanitising gel regularly and thoroughly.

Measures to be Taken Before You Arrive
(Accommodation Guests Only)

To minimise person-to-person contact on arrival, we ask you to book via our website or a third-party booking site such as This will reduce the need for us to handle the chip-and-pin machine or cash.

Your booking will be confirmed on receipt. A Residents Guide will be e-mailed to you three days prior to your check-in date. We are aiming to stagger arrivals in 15-minute intervals to maintain social distancing and reduce the amount of time you will have to wait to be checked in.

The Residents Guide will include a link to a guest registration form that we kindly request you fill out and submit prior to your arrival in order to minimise person-to-person contact at reception. Please have one person in your party complete the form on behalf of everyone else. As well as being necessary for the NHS Track and Trace Programme, we are required to collect this information as an accommodation provider. Your details will be kept according to GDPR guidelines.

In order to ensure the safety of our other guests, as well as our staff, we politely request that if you are displaying any symptoms of Covid-19 that you do not travel to the Centre and contact us at the telephone number provided with your booking confirmation e-mail to postpone your stay.

We also request that anyone who has recently returned from any of the countries NOT on the UK government's travel corridors list to please refrain from visiting the Centre for 14 days after arrival in the UK to ensure that you are healthy. If this means you will need to postpone your visit, please contact us at the telephone number provided with your booking confirmation e-mail, and we will be happy to assist you.

We have revised our cancellation policy in order to be as accommodating and understanding of the current situation as possible. We no longer offer a non-refundable room rate and we do not charge a fee to modify or cancel your booking, as long as you do so prior to your arrival date and time. Please note, that this flexibility applies only to bookings made on our website or directly with us. The cancellation and modification policies for bookings made on third party websites (e.g., will not be as flexible.

We have also closed off the residents’ lounge. The refrigerator in the kitchenette can still be used, but please use the hand sanitising station before opening the door.

If you develop Covid-19 symptoms whilst staying at the Centre, please arrange a test using our address (Lower Galdeford, Ludlow, SY8 1RZ). You can order a test from or call 119. If you are travelling with others, they must also self-isolate and take appropriate action based on your test result.

On check-out please open your windows to ventilate your room. Keys (including lift and bike shed keys) must be deposited in the box outside the entrance to the accommodation corridor on the first floor in order to limit person-to-person contact.
